Hell, I’m not even OK with just 3D rendered mechs, either. There is very little in anime that’s more beautiful than fully hand-drawn machinery.

No it’s not similar at all.

I don’t know.. it’s a full 3D rendered anime... I’m ok with Mech animes rendering the mechs in 3D, but human characters too? That’s plain lazy.

“What you doing in your game today? Commenting on the sexual orientation of other men or perhaps suggesting their mothers are of illrepute?”
“Nah, I’m going to try to make elaborate first contact with NPC aliens with no hope if it working but doing so makes me feel more whole as a person.”
“...Oh... I guess you can ALSO

This is a fantastic opportunity for game devs to reward their player community for creative thinking while also generating great press for their game.

This is why I love gaming. To go to places I’ve not been, to see things I’ve not seen, and to meet people who do all kinds of cool shit I never would have thought of trying. Hope the devs reward this behavior in some way.

FYI its about 40 hours of gameplay to unlock each character.

When they said DLC would be free, I knew there would be a catch... There’s always a catch.

Journeys are generally in service of the destination.

I always hear this when people defend bad endings. Don’t get me wrong, the journey DOES matter, but you have to stick the ending as well.

Eh, ME:A had a slightly awkward intro but a good cast and solid combat but I still like ME1 the most. Saren could have been retooled, yes, and even redone so that another type of fight with the Reaper occurred after Saren’s defeat.

Yeah but it was an ending that went “that journey meant nothing HAHAHAHAHAHAHA”.

don’t even get me STARTED on what happens in Tresspasser

Awesome investigation and article, Jason. I’m not too interested in games like these, so I never really had any hype horse in this race, but it was still an amazing read.

Man, there’s a lot of pretty depressing stuff in here. Frostbite seems to be a recurring problem in many of these games, and the attitude of EA’s upper management is disheartening on multiple levels, if not surprising. But what’s even more concerning is how increasingly common it is for single-player games to be to

Another great story, Jason. A couple things really stand out to me here. First, The statement you got from Patrick Söderlund is pretty remarkable. I know there’s still corporate speak, but that was still pretty detailed and lined up with all of the rest of your reporting.

Haha, I didn’t even think about it like that. GD even his shade is brilliant.

I think that’s implied in his saying. It’s like, “I do this for my grandson, because my son can’t do it as well.”

Nah, I’ve always hated Mario. There was never anything redeeming about him, it’s always been about Bowser, he’s the real hero.

That’s what happens with all male celebrities
