Z/28 all the way
Z/28 all the way
No worries, I don't mind. I wasn't trying to come off confrontational either. I was actually asking. That's the only problem with text, no context or tone.
I haven't made my decision on it yet since I haven't driven it, thus my statement "I'll wait for the full specs". I made a comment though that it will be difficult for it to take on the Z/28 based on what we know right now.
Have you driven it?
But at that point why not just get an FR-S and throw a couple grand at it. It would be just as good for a lot less money?
How is it a dead end? They somehow made that heavy car dance like it's a sugar plum fairy on acid!
I sincerely doubt it'll cost $25k less. That engine development alone has to put in in the $55-65k region. And since most of the Z/28's are selling for around 68-70k, the Mustang would have to seriously outperform it, and without the carbon brakes, can it?
I wasn't for the longest time, but after driving it, holy fuck. http://news.boldride.com/2014/10/chevy-…
By being able to take a corner. The Z/28 takes corners faster than anything I've ever driven. Chevy let their engineers go crazy on it and it shows. This just seems like it's another modified Mustang?
I was just guessing, but the fact that they will have to spread out the development cost of the engine, it's going to be expensive
Just because of the motor? And it seems to make more compromises than the Z/28 by a long shot. Ill know more tomorrow when I see it in person
The brakes and suspension aren't as robust, the torque isn't all that epic. The tires are good, but not the super trofeo the Z/28 has. It just isn't the same technical exercise the Z/28 was.
This will not compete with a Z/28. It doesn't have the same performance numbers at all. Check out the press release.

They aren't the biggest anymore. That would be VAG.
Wasn't, too angry to type!
Then make it the price of a good mustang, like 45-50 and that's cool. Over a Vette and its not worth it.
This is Toyota shooting themselves in the foot. Just build a tubro inline 6, no hybrid anything, rwd, with a stick and price it around the same as the Mustang. Boom instant seller
They branched out
The Volvo V8 Supercar engine from this year. Carbon fiber velocity stacks? I think that's a winner in anyone's book.
