Ah. I didn’t see your other reply where you mentioned these things. Sorry for coming across as overly accusatory. Best wishes. :)

I would like to reiterate what some others have pointed out, which is that the commenting system is pretty frustrating, in that sometimes the dumbest comments are approved, and insightful ones are left gray forever. It’s not working this way, is the point. Perhaps you could make it so that anyone whose comment has

I think I have OCETBDD (Opposition to Calling Every Type of Behavior a Disorder Disorder).

I believe the majority of trans-identified people not only pose zero threat to others, but are vulnerable for all the reasons I’ve outlined. Trans people need and deserve protection.” [These are not the sentiments of a trans-phobic bigot.]

Please point to where she herself actually said “stuff to the effect of trans women being a predatory threat to cis women merely by virtue of existing.” If you can’t, then you’re putting words in her mouth to then attack her with. You might not see how dangerous (and absurd) that kind of thing is, but you will if you

Came here to say this about Arcane. Nothing comes close. To say it raises the bar is an understatement.

Uh.... maybe if my screen name was “brutalmurderisgreat” then you’d have a point. As it stands, not so much.

You feel that this is an appropriate response to a mother defending her offspring? This attempt at humor is actually rather disturbing. And even more disturbing if it’s even partly serious.

I’m curious about these kinds of vulnerabilities. In what sort of scenario would I be vulnerable? Through regular browsing, like being on this site, and making this comment? Or does one need to go to specific sites? Exactly what sort of browsing puts one in danger?

Yeah, the problem with these G/O media sites is that they don’t actually care if they spread bad/wrong information, they only care about getting the clicks and ad views.

I’m confused about these vulnerabilities. Do I need to visit certain sites to be vulnerable? Or am I vulnerable visiting my usual sites, like say, Lifehacker. Can someone jack my browser if I’m visiting legit sites like this, or Amazon, or weather.com, etc?

As I see it, if you have to watch/deal with ads, it ain’t free.

Is good point. For my money, this was, by far, the best show I’ve seen in a long time. I’ve already watched it twice, and plan to watch it again.

I think you mean “clearer to whom”. ;-)

This. Sounding like an ignoramus can have consequences. Language is fluid to an extent, yes, but using “literally” figuratively, for but one example, sounds kind of idiotic. One is free to be idiotic, of course, but, again, these things can sometimes have consequences.

People can talk about what they think are the reasons (given the limited view almost all of us can have of how things really work behind the scenes (and I’m not talking conspiracy theories)), but I promise you that at the top of these systems, there are people making a *lot* of money from this.

Your analogy is unfair to me and where I’m coming from, but whatever; what matters is how you choose to see it and use your interpretation against me, right? Anyway, as a side note, I just stumbled upon an almost perfect example of the problem I’m talking about. Here’s a quote from a magazine article:

Yes, you’re certainly correct about that. But we’re not talking about unknown parties here. We’re talking about a known party. And unless that person is never in the company of others, using “they/them” for a single person can, and does, get confusing. I’m simply advocating for good, clear communication, and I’m also

Anyone who doesn’t do exactly what you want them to is not a “meaningful ally.” I think you’d do well to actually pay attention to what I wrote, and my motivations, which are not what you are trying to mistakenly force on my words. You might want to also look up the concept of hypocrisy. And it’s not about my

I know that the PC police will jump on me for this, but this whole choose/name your pronouns thing is an(other) irritating trend. Nothing against those who want to change their gender. More power to them. But trying to change society so that everyone constantly needs to announce and remember everyone’s chosen pronouns
