True, but who knows what the political landscape will be in 2-3 years?  Maybe there’ll be another EV credit given.

“those were the given prices before any federal discounts.”
And, because Tesla has used up all its Federal discounts, it’s also the pricing after the Federal discounts.

I can’t hate them if I never talk to them.

Like, you’d think it’s a car site, so people enjoy cars, and the idea of “playing jazz” with car ideas. No, haters ball in here. Bizarre and disappointing.

Not even a dad but I like it, probably because of the sheer amounts of autistic screeching about it. Like, you’d think it’s a car site, so people enjoy cars, and the idea of “playing jazz” with car ideas. No, haters ball in here. Bizarre and disappointing

Also oil/fluid/filter changes, plugs/coil packs, gas in some states are $3 - $4 a gallon. More brake/rotor changes. All add up vs. the electric model.

I like it too. It represents the dystopian future we’re heading towards brought to us by gas guzzling trucks this vehicle tries not to resemble. Good riddance to 50s nostalgia (Dodge Ram I’m looking at you). Flamethrowers, underground tunnels, rockets to mars and now bulletproof trucks. School shootings, mass

I appreciate the thoughtful, intelligent analysis. Shine on, you bright beam, and spread your light upon the earth.

Have to agree, every performance promise on the Model S, 3 and X were met and improved upon with over the air wi-fi updates. The 35k Model 3 is still available as a phone in special order, just not on the website.

I don’t think it looks crude, rushed or rudimentary at all. I think it takes inspiration from modern architecture and military hardware design, mixes in a bit of scifi futurism and makes for a brilliant, novel styling direction—maybe the first truly new styling theme we’ve seen since Gandini’s game-changing Alfa

“It is still quick with decent handling, something most trucks are not great at.”

I legit want this so bad. I have no idea why people hate it so much. I think it looks awesome. I also wanted a DeLorean when I was a boy. I actually went to my DMV website to see if the license plate Warthog was available. I almost squealed when it was.

It would be like bitching that you can’t get a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back of an Escalade.

As with all things Tesla, expect +33% on the price and -25% on the promised performance.

I think you missed the part about why the metal is so thick - the truck doesn’t sit on a frame, the sides ARE the frame. That’s actually pretty brilliant if it works, since they aren’t wrong about the frame being one of the heaviest parts of any given vehicle, and serving no real purpose except to hold everything else

Presumably, the bizzare design resulted in simplicity of manufacturing which allowed them to blow the doors off everyone’s price expectations (and Rivian that starts ~$30k higher).

It also appears that the payload capacity is not up to spec on the vehicle we saw. Look at the rear sag with only an ATV and a person in the “bed”. That looks like someone throwing a cu. yard of sand in their 1994 ranger for crying out loud...

I mean, it’s really goofy looking, but being that I’m a Suburban Dad, I’m actually interested in it.

Realworld urban dad driving a crew cab with kids here. My ‘16 F-150 with the 5.0 v8, 4x4, crew cab, etc. has a 36 gal tank and a range of ~700mi.

I can’t see any way that the design actually improves anything about the actual operation and use of a truck. Really, it seems like it would be an awkward truck to actually live with and use.
