*I* wanted to hug them and I was sitting across from them! They were legitimately so upset. It was unreal. Restored my faith in humanity. And bros.

My point is that women do, absolutely, face discrimination in the hiring process and that it contributes to the gap and that yes, whether or not women you know have had a lot of good job options (and of course the arguments about hiring are generalizations and won’t apply in all cases).

Women don’t accept less for the same job because their “husbands make enough” and that was NEVER the case. Women accept less because the alternative is no job.

It’s fiscally responsible AND reduces the horrific gender ratio in upper management!
