It’s their attempts at punishment that annoy me. If they had an iron-clad “this charge equals X games suspended”, or even a hands-off “that’s between you and the law” stance, that would be something you could agree or disagree with, and watch or not depending.

That’s been the exact opposite of my experience - academics mistake the public not knowing the technical language of their area of expertise for a lack of interest in the general topics and themes, and specialists’ inability to bridge that gap is more of a problem than one of the dullness of the material.

“After 20 years of being told by our window-dressing partner that men hurting women is a bad thing, we finally realized that they meant a bad PR thing, and now we get it.”

This was written with all the clarity and sense of purpose I expect from a — former sports administrator of some sort, if I followed that?

Totally. I’m always surprised when DMs write players’ backstories for them. Feels like tabletop puppetry!

Reminds me of a DM who had gone to exhaustive lengths to set up a really intricate backstory for his campaign setting, complete with dedicated roles for each ‘class’. He put a lot of time into it and as settings went it was really good—but it bored the shit out of players, because it railroaded them during character

I too worked as a custodian at a prestigeous northeastern university, only to get fired for using the chalkboard in the hallway of the lecture hall.

“It was a sloppy, messy, nasty affair.”

Wow, Doug Henning endorsing it from the doorstep of his magician house with his surprisingly normal looking family? That IS cool!

Thank you for being so Frank about the situation.

Liberal academic elites, with their PhDs and whatnot. Just Gauling.

For better or worse, that is proper terminology that’s in use by many medical professionals and first responders. It sounds gruesome, but I’ll wager that it’s less awful than if they describe the actual injuries that these unfortunate folks suffered.

Thanks. This is a dream come true for me.

Sir, your posts are quickly becoming the ones that I most look forward to. Now I have to go and find that 1:18th scale 996 model I have in my closet and make vroom vroom noises.

Tyler, as a fellow 996 owner I can’t begin to tell you how much pride I have for Apollo 911. We have had our 2003 since 2008 and have babied it constantly. At the 30K service, I did the IMS bearing thing and now have complete confidence in my car, “Heimweh”. I only hope that I can live long enough to see even half

I consider myself a freelance brand ambassador for the combination of bong rips and pots of strong black coffee.

A remote comes with the TV.
A smart watch does not come with the phone.

There were two big factors that stopped me from buying one, the first being the cost of the smart watches and the second being that I could not see any real reason why I would need one. If I want to know the time it takes me all of a second to take my phone out and look at it. If I want to see notifications, the same
