True, I honestly thought they would have started with the plane crash and worked from there to him suddenly appearing in NYC. I also liked how they explained his 15 year absence. He literally could not return, even if he wanted to.

The "fight scenes" with the security guards was slow on purpose. Danny was trying to not hurt them while expending as little energy as possible.
