The worst advice I've ever been given is "In the corporate environment, your race doesn't matter. As long as you work hard, you'll succeed." In reality, race always matters, it's not what you know, its who you know and the hardest worker RARELY gets recognized for his efforts.

You're right. Living in Atlanta has taught me that your base location plays a huge role.

I'd use travel sites to view prices and then go directly to the source. Those sites rarely give you cheaper fares and they almost always add additional fees on top of what the airline will charge you if you need to cancel or switch flights. Just my 2 cents.

I agree 100%. I've been down that road with 3 different companies in DC. They're willing to negotiate but I didn't get what I wanted. ATL to DC isn't like moving 2 hours away so I always told myself that if the situation wasn't perfect for me I wouldn't do it.

We both know that's not true. More people love it than hate. I can guarantee that.

I don't see any amount for rent to be "insane". What I will call "insane" is someone living above their means. If your rent more than 40% to 50% of your annual salary......you're truly insane. Thats playing with fire.

I've always wanted to live in D.C. (Not VA and Not MD) but the cost of living is what keeps me away. I'm in the IT field and I've had several interviews but the pay increase vs. the increase in the cost of living never balanced out.

    Atlanta, GA

Atlanta has a lot secret spots but I'd like to keep them off the radar so I'll keep them to myself. This city is always buzzing and probably the only city that always has traffic jams on the weekend due to visitors and other events.....sorry bro. I think I'll keep them to myself.

    I agree....thats a weird question to ask.

I'm an IT Professional now but I've had more jobs than most. I've done just about everything legal for a pay check. Ive been a bus Boy, wood factory general laborer, Project Manager, Correctional officer....trust me, the list goes on and on. I've been on my share and your share of interviews. I ALWAYS end with "Do you

BAM! Couldnt have said it better myself.

I'm a firm believer that even if you're in a committed relationship or married, both parties need some type of privacy. The amount all depends on how secure your partner is. If you have a really really insecure partner, giving them 100% access isn't going to put their mind at ease, it'll probably make things worst.

Im STILL looking for them to remove the ENTER key after entering a security pin or password to unlock the device. I hate having to press enter after I put in my code.
