What We Talk About When We Talk About White Privilege

Eh. She doesn't "deserve" to be famous or on TV, but that's true of most people who are famous and/or on TV. Being the iconoclastic offspring of a politician is a long-standing way to be famous, though her particular brand of milquetoast iconoclasm is kind of unique (no?) in a not very interesting way.

Oh the dye job isn't that bad. On the other hand, 16 months seems generous...

Oh my god I wonder if it could make my junk look huge?!

I missed the part where she said she's totally secure and doesn't give a fuck about anything. (I caught the part where she said she doesn't give a fuck that she often takes bad pictures.)

GDP

You know, that's a really uncalled-for response. I'm merely suggesting that, perhaps, his reaction to the attention wasn't as immediate and intense as he's made it out to be. Is that really comparable to saying "he was asking for it?"

Obviously D'Angelo had/has big problems, and I'm not trying to dispute that the "objectification" didn't make things better for him. However. I saw him on the Voodoo tour (in Houston) and he played the physique and the sexuality way over the top out of the gate and for the entire show. I don't even think R. Kelly

What is this I don't even

Me neither! That's genuinely amazing.

Agreed, though I think a simple "Cool story, bro" would have sufficed.

L plates?

"[Y]ou can't even blame ignorance for her stance because surely she's seen the victim testify and heard all the reprocussions of how a sexual assaullt can impact a victim's life."

Yes. But she's bad, so any shame / smear is fair game.

Alternative interpretation: Do buy tampons at the salvage store.

I know "won't somebody think of the children" is a cliche, but, seriously, we ought to consider their interests (including, yes, their interest in never being born).

I'm saying my policy preference in this case is driven by my principles, not data. That's true of everybody to at least some extent. You're over-complicating things.

"Principled stances don't make good policy."

They're not labeling the data as new as far as I can tell. What's the nature of the misinformation?

I'm absolutely sensitive to the plight of these women. Drug addiction is terrible. We should try to treat drug addiction. That doesn't mean that it's not also terrible for drug addicted women to get pregnant and have children they do not and/or cannot care for. Therefore, I believe that we should also try to stop

No. The woman is taking away the autonomy of future reproductive choice. Many women do that without any incentive. Also, the program gives addicts the same payments if they get non-surgical birth control.
