Both good, Vive imo is clearly better. VR is not a substitute it’s a compliment. Lots of video game genres would translate badly to VR. As mind blowing as hololens is, it just feels like a tech demo, which it is.

Samsung Gear VR is a very good budget VR system. And if you can figure it out; it can also do PC games.
Playstation vr comes out next month! It's by the best chance VR has to go mainstream right now.
