No but you guys can chose who you shine the spotlight on. Of all the shops doing great work you pick the one with a history of shady doings. All we wanted was smarter and fair coverage.

Right, my point is shortening the track would make a much more noticeable change in time than trap speed. Subtracting 50 feet from a quarter mile would give most cars a 3 tenths difference in ET, but probably less than 1 mph in speed. The former is noticeable, the latter could be chalked up to normal variation or

I thought the same and actually started to write a comment about it... then deleted it figuring it would just get ignored like the countless comments regarding HPE. Odd to see this article when the site has given HPE so much publicity in the past despite objections.

I personally had a bit of work done at Hennessey 8 years ago. This article is spot on and there’s not a week that goes by that I don’t regret using their services.

Once again, Jalopnik, like all of Gawker’s sites, flips between the “we’re a blog!/we’re real journalists!” crap. Pick one. Commenting on automotive personalities is pretty much all Jalopnik does. Since when do you need to be able to “back it up?”

Maybe not, but you could have done a little digging to make sure you weren’t giving a complete POS undue credit. Should have listened to the base Jason.

I feel you man. There was definitely a group of us here that, throughout all the fawning Hennessey articles written by Jalopnik, maintained that the man was a crook.

Friend of mine has a viper and I asked him if we going to mod it. He said maybe I and told him to avoid hennessy for just these reasons

The article is well corroborated by 6 ex-employees, it’s not like the article is based solely on Ali’s complaints.

I used to work track safety at a couple drag strips within a 4 hour drive of HPE’s a every other tuner operation in the area would comment on how they would run consistently 3/10's of a second faster at the HPE track. The one tuner actually measured and found their traps to not be a true 1/4 mile.

Please tell me that Hennessey used the phrase, “Trust me.” when he was talking about how things have changed for the better and he’s learned his lessons.

WTF??!!!...Yet when WE ever mentioned it on your COUNTLESS articles (ads?), we were chastised for bringing up “old news”.

The reason this is a thing is because, well, it's a thing.
