Google it. I did. I’ve long understood it’s misuse to somehow mean only sci-fi and fantasy, but I assure you that outside of this bubble, “genre” does not refer to only those two things.
But really, Google it. Type in “what is a genre film”, as I did in order to get a sanity check.
