While I largely agree with the points you’re making, several things kind of took me out of the moment. You have to get even the smallest things right, or your point will get lost to reader’s internal dialogue as they are distracted by them.

Correct. There’s a TON more CGI going on now that people don’t know about, and when people claim they can instantly tell the difference between something like Stagecraft (when executed well) and a practical set, you can tell who’s vying for cool kid in the corner title.
