While I largely agree with the points you’re making, several things kind of took me out of the moment. You have to get even the smallest things right, or your point will get lost to reader’s internal dialogue as they are distracted by them.

Taxi driver is a distinctly 70's movie, and Falling Down was released in 1993.

No offense, but you’re not taking their point at all if you’re still insisting that people can tell the difference by it being “obvious”. It isn’t obvious at all, and that’s why the new technology is so successful. Perhaps you are meaning to say that it’s somehow obvious to you? But the fact that you’re discussing VFX

Correct. There’s a TON more CGI going on now that people don’t know about, and when people claim they can instantly tell the difference between something like Stagecraft (when executed well) and a practical set, you can tell who’s vying for cool kid in the corner title.

Yup.

Read the room, buddy.

I just don’t have any words. These are all so gorgeous, and so useful/educational at the same time. Thank you for sharing.

There’s a lot of good analysis going on in here, but what the real question for me personally is, if not Biden, then who? Who do we have that will have a strong enough appeal to the centrists and ‘independents’ (although I’m not really sure how that’s possible anymore because it’s primary conceit is _choice_, and

Exactly.

Or because not just anyone gets to have a word in the comments.. We’re called “the greys”. I guess.

For everyone “yadda yadda yadda, we shouldn’t stoop to their level, etc..”, please bear in mind these Associated Justices, Kavanaugh in particular, _lied_ outright to Congress and to the American people in order to get their jobs. Not only that, but they accepted these positions knowing full well that the Republican

Yup.

Guaranteed he does, and probably just completely covers it and leaves a soupy pond of it next to the steak for extra dipping. Why? Because these people ruin _everything_.

Ugh, they’re getting worse, that’s for sure.

Guarantee you that deep in his brain, this so-called underpopulation crisis and birth rate issue he’s concerned about is regarding white people. It basically ties into the whole replacement theory thing. I mean, the dude IS from South Africa. If you don’t think there isn’t still some of that good old fashioned

You’re dead on correct, esp. about this topic putting off people who are otherwise allies. And outside of this site, I’m positive the vast majority of women would agree with you. Most people do not feel that they need to be scolded or lectured on their personal preference of terminology from a lifetime of usage, or

Do it. You won’t be disappointed. Also, as I’m sure you’ve guessed by now, there are vastly different kinds of cruises. That one is the one you’d fit in on. A discount buffet/bar run from NYC to the Bahamas you probably wouldn’t.

And somehow I’m still in the greys, and you’re not. Sheesh.

Why am I in the greys and you are not? Sigh.

Oh, and thank you for taking the time to write out your understanding of the process. It’s about what I thought it might be, but I didn’t know about getting ungreyed for one article doesn’t extend beyond that one time thing. That’s... just about as infuriating to be honest. Esp. for someone like me who probably has

This greys thing is just completely frustrating. I have been reading Gawker adjacent websites for over a decade. I predate the entire Hulk Hogan bullshit by a long while. I’ve made a zillion comments that I’ve been very careful to try and make them as helpful/illuminating/germane to the conversation or topic on hand,
