If it was Bortles, he would have missed the lake with the throw.

That is exactly right. User name does NOT check out.

Counterpoint: Gareth Bale’s bald spot-obscuring man bun is fooling no one.

I thought Americans didn’t like soccer because there’s no promotion/relegation.

Because he has the bone density of a four-year-old.

Duh, it’s Europe. It’s probably a METRIC under 23 match.

Unlike those strong players in the NBA who never flop or fall down or fake injuries.... At least these guys play a sport that requires extended periods of running and jumping with limited to no stopages.

I am surprisingly ok with this. That was a ridiculous challenge that should have gotten a straight red on its own (maybe it did, light googling did not turn up the end result for the player).

The scariest scene in that film, which is really saying something. Robert Shaw should have gotten the Best (Supporting?) Actor Oscar that year.

I’ve been in the U.S. Navy for over 8 years. This is a huge find for U.S. Naval history. The horrors that these men faced can not be overstated. Floating in shark infested waters having to wait your turn in the life raft then after a while having to give up your spot so another sailor can have their turn. Meanwhile

If a fictional character’s recollection of the incident can go down as one of the most moving scenes in cinema, imagine what it was like being there.

Yeah good point. They probably all practically forgot about that time they abandoned ship into the Pacific Ocean and floated for four days while sharks slowly ate the people around them. Probably just a faint, hazy memory itching at the back of their heads at this point.

Probably best if you keep such unfeeling, disrespectful, and ignorant thoughts to yourself.

Nice hot take. These men faced unthinkable adversity, lost almost a thousand shipmates, and yes, 72 years later their resting place has been found. I’m sure it means the world to them.

This news must be unbelievably emotional for the 22 surviving crew members of the U.S.S. Indianapolis. Greatest generation indeed.

Shit, I just read a whole article about a guy watching a whole preseason NFL game. Knowing full well the whole time that this was the topic of the article. What the hell.

it should be said, already deserves to be in the conversation as one of the world’s best strikers of the ball

You missed the point... making an ass of myself due to my ignorance on topics like “guaranteed money,” the ins and outs of campaign finance laws, and northwest United States weather patterns is my thing. Some people collect stamps or bird-watch, I make an ass of myself.

He’s the worst.
