I think for some people, as I’ve said previously, the issue there is with #3 where at some point these minor fuck ups in language and promises to do better run out of steam a little bit and it’s an issue of actually doing better/caring more about being careful with your language than scoring the quickest twitter

Off the top of my head? That it’s a little ghoulish to support a Presidential candidate who made her gender a big part of her campaign and also fund a haven of shitty misogyny like Barstool?

Not only is that a terrible concept of what narcissism is, but physiologists aren’t who would make that diagnosis.

Leaving aside that my post is less a statement of anything other than a joke about how it’s ok to not like people from Florida, the number of “How can our fan base be racist when there are some Hispanic ballplayers we like” responses I’ve gotten sure have been something.

Conn Smythe was terrible and somehow, the guy who took over the Leafs from him, Harold Ballard, was worse. Low-key, I’d put Leafs ownership as the worst of any franchise in the major sports.

05-06 is a tricky one but you’ll never convince me that if two guys had those exact two seasons but it was the good ol’ Canadian boy who scored 56 goals and the moody European who scored 29 that the Canadian wouldn’t have gotten the Hart nod.

It’s pretty hard not to read that as working in private equity makes you a ghoul.

The worst Hart/Lindsay discrepancy in my mind will always be Henrik Sedin instead of Ovechkin in 09-10 but that’s a good one too.

There’s a pretty short list of pro athletes who really deserve to be looked at as real heroes in the world of organized labour. To my mind Lindsay is right up there with Curt Flood on that list.

I’m not really a fruit with my meat sort of fella(and I’m in Canada so good Al Pastor tacos are hard to find) but how many really good pineapple desserts are there? Is it a good ice cream flavour? Does a pineapple sauce sound good?

That’s not even close to being true. What you’re describing, even if you give everything you said there complete and total credence, is just hypocrisy and “Virtue Signaling” is not just another term for hypocrisy.

To some extent I feel like there’s a neat symmetry there between the audience and the barking you get from so many Barstool Seals in the comments here. So often it’s “How can you criticize Barstool when Deadspin used to....” and so on which reads eerily like the schism in any group of friends in their 30's between the

There are obviously a lot of metrics for evaluating a ballplayer but I think most of the ways you’d look at Harper you’d have to see a guy who consistently performs at or near an all-star level with the potential for an MVP kind of year. To what extent that qualifies as “amazing” is up for grabs but he’s pretty good.

I think in this situation you have to ask though whether or not “more marketable” is code for shameful, ridiculous prejudice against Hispanic ballplayers or for fairly reasonable, understandable prejudice against people from Florida.

See, but I need more info there. When we talk about best fruits do we just mean to eat by itself cold? Its versatility as an ingredient? Its utility for possibly becoming booze?

If either of those countries were in a war? Absolutely, I could.

I mean, I’m personally Team Raspberry there too but at least Strawberries vs. Raspberries is a legit non-jam argument.

Meet me in Temeculah. Or wherever they have a Jam factory.

Hey, we’re all that way about some things. It’s been very difficult for me as an adult to process that other adults aren’t super interested in Baseball stats.
