Replace money with basically any element of the job then(and between the structure of the deal with signing bonuses and getting to have his expenses in the Canadian dollars but payment in US dollars, he probably does better with the Toronto deal).

I don’t have a huge problem with this, fans are fans and while the circumstances are different Toronto fans booed Vince Carter for about 15 years.

Not crazy. Just boring.

Pffft, I wish. All I’m inheriting are some O-Pee-Chee hockey cards and some Beach Boys boxed sets.

No, Eastern European Jewish stock. But the same principles apply. Lots of boiled cabbage.

I absolutely 100% am open to the idea that my father is full of shit.

Well, my grandfather used to say that the proper way to cook kidneys is to “boil the piss out of them” so, you know, some people can bridge the gap. All meat is pretty gross if you think about it for too long.

Because it’s delicious?

Yeah, like I said he really does say he likes the taste better. He’s not under the assumption when we go for steaks that I’m at health risk if I order it medium-rare, it’s just not his thing.

My father is someone who likes overdone meat. I don’t get it but it seems to apply everywhere. He wants his steaks grey, charred bits on his wings, burgers to look like little hockey pucks.

The idea that a company reacting to something that clearly made a lot of people upset with efforts to placate those poeple is evidence that the company definitely agrees with those people strikes me as kind of bogus. Especially when their efforts to address those concerns are still largely cosmetic.

Is it really though? I’ve never played a game marketed as a “choice driven” RPG that didn’t decide some things for the player. The entire game still takes place within a narrative framework where you’re expected to do certain things if you want the story to progress.

I think it’s pretty clear that however they may have misrepresented your romantic choices in the game, they failed at artistically convincing people that the direction they took the story in was satisfying and well executed.

There’s no question that Ubisoft overpromised the amount of control players would have on the character but to some extent that was mitigated by the fact that you don’t really have any meaningful romances in the game. If Ubisoft had said that occasionally your character can decide to fuck someone before that character

I remember when it happened feeling almost bad for the guy, like we were watching this multi-platinum millionaire recording artist getting shoved into a locker by a bigger kid...

Man, we really don’t give 50 cent enough credit for killing Ja Rule’s career and burying it in a shallow grave.

Don’t be sad that it’s over, be happy that you get to leave Ottawa.

Again, narrowly speaking I don’t disagree in this specific situation. I just think that this is a good example of the cracks in the non-interventionist arguments being put forth by a lot of people on the Left(excepting the ones who are actually making excuses for Maduro)

Well, did “we” invade Iraq or did one of the dumbest Presidents of all time invade Iraq at the behest of corporate interests with little to no actual knowledge or even consideration of the likely post-Invasion consequences? Writing off intervention because of Iraq is like ruling out the use of power tools in home

But doesn’t that highlight sort of the constant problem with left wing foreign policy? We’re all for Venezuelans to have a better go of things and self-determination here and while we’re all tired of the disastrous neo-con interventionalist agenda what are we actually for our governments doing to bring about those
