Boy!

Maybe. It also probably depends on how deep you get. As someone who’s always largely been casual I’ve always found those experiences more positive.

I don’t know, maybe it’s just my experience as an old person but it feels like back in the day “fandom” was largely positive because actually finding anything resembling a community took time, effort and at the very least an effort not to be a total prick about things. Now that people have a direct line to

No, I got the point. You keep trying to say that these guys are employees and not “fans”. But the OP has said that the mistake they made was trying to make a “career” out of their fandom(again, implying they are paid).

No, I said that calling them “glorified fans” was inaccurate in the same way that it’s inaccurate to call NFL players “glorified fans” of the NFL.

Okay. How is that in any way relevant to the conversation you decided to jump into? These people were being paid by Blizzard to play their game. That makes them significantly more than “glorified fans.” They were being paid to generate content.

No, my point is that these guys aren’t akin to NFL players because NFL players have legal rights that they fought for through their union.

Oh, my mistake. So did shutting this down violate his contract with Blizzard then? What does his union have to say about it?

I love how people like you interpret “Don’t treat corporations like they’re your best friend with your interests at heart” as somehow defending them.

Exactly. These companies are not your friend. Don’t expect them to be.

The problem with that analogy, and other people have tried to make it, is that the NFL announcing that they were going to stop playing would be the equivalent of Blizzard saying they were going to stop operating as a company, full stop. The NFL is a football league. Blizzard is not primarily an esports company and

NBA players have contracts with Shoe companies. NBA players, through the NBPA, have a union. Your analogy is bad.

Pro Football players are members of a union and have contracts with NFL teams.

Because the prison is so close to New York’s large Jewish population guests (still prisoners) have their choice of kosher foods, including matzo ball soup, gefilte fish, beef cholent and rugelach.

Aww, what a cute little....

I feel like 400,000 residents of Halifax rose as one to yell to Johnny Weir “He’s from fucking Cole Harbour, buddy

Look, some people here are going to act all fancy-pants about this stuff and we’ll buy in and say “Ugh, that’s unsanitary” but we all know health inspectors are just the government version of the guys who insist on telling you how they rigged the lighting in Temple of Doom to get the ripped out heart to look right.

I want to believe but they’ve hurt me too many times in the past.

Are you even allowed to coach if you’re that handsome? Rowr.
