To be fair hockey is more popular than soccer if you don’t include 12 year old girls.

A couple of things:

No need to worry about Nylander’s bank account. Even if he wasn’t the son of a wealthy professional athlete, he can always fall back on Reebok ads.

Yes, a hockey team. As opposed to soccer, the favourite sport of uninterested 9 year olds everywhere.

Then I stand by my interpretation of it? I think it reads pretty clear that he’s saying that the stuff that people do that makes them all sad and miserable(and in some cases dead) isn’t, you know, good.

You really don’t need to sell me on the idea that this proposal is better than nothing. I’m saying I don’t need to take it seriously as an intellectual argument when a much better and fairer one is obvious and right in front of us.

Situations where people are being paid for their labour are not comparable to situations where they aren’t. It was a crummy analogy on your part. In your example, if your co-worker is unhappy with what he’s making he’s free to negotiate his own deal based on his own worth elsewhere. This proposal cements in the idea

I don’t think it takes a deep knowledge of the guy’s work to think that a book where everyone ends up miserable because of the stuff they do isn’t glorifying the actions they take.

Strawmen are 12 feet tall?

I have not read Wanted. I am only referring to Kick-Ass.

If my coworker does the same work that I do but makes 20,000 dollars more, it’s not punishing my coworker if I get a 20,000 dollar raise.

I think you are unnecessarily splitting hairs when your argument is “It’s not punishing them, just that everyone except for them will be getting thousands of dollars”.

Yeah, maybe I’m completely off base here but as opposed to something that made you feel like you needed to take a shower after reading it, Vaughn turned it into something for loud, dumb people to think fuckin’ rules.

I still don’t see the point in somehow punishing the guys who want to go to the more expensive schools, especially if they’re the kind of athletes who could go anywhere.

And the value they’re getting now sucks. The point here should be to overhaul the system to make it fair for everyone.

No, that’s probably Jamal Murray. And Wiggins is still probably better than Thompson.

And, of course, the PG who’d be running the show, the immortal Myck Kabongo.

Because it would mean that the next Andrew Luck or, say, Grant Hill would get no money?

An underrated funny story here is just how excited local Basketball writers, who in Toronto are very much the low guys on the totem pole, were a few years ago for the potential Canadian National Team that was supposed to be a contender at the 2020 Olympics.

Side note but does anyone else kind of feel like there are probably a bunch of Customs dudes who are really bummed out that they’re always lumped into the Immigration guys and their shitty behaviours?
