Whaaaaat, how dare you impugn the majesty that is CARTA...
It is flippin ridiculous though, Charleston is heading for mayhem. When I was young our house was in the middle of nowhere, Oakley to be precise, between Goose Creek and Moncks Corner. It was a good 15 mins to “town” in either direction on US 52. Now the

I’ve been watching Travels by Narrowboat on amazon and am just dying to try one out on a holiday.

One Planesman UI at the sticks of LA Class SSN... Very boring, didn’t do that again...

Came looking for SWIFT comments, was not disappointed...

Not a ford guy, but I’d buy that for a dollar, 4500 of ‘em

I had no idea what you meant by that, but now thanks to the magic of Google...

Back in 1993 they experimented in Charleston SC with adding capsaicin to anti-fouling, and now they have this stuff https://barnaclestop.com/

Spicy shiny bottoms... lol

The Japanese don’t have anything like this!

That’s a hell of a note, I had Subaru dealers tripping over themselves to get my manual 2010 Outback, and that was with a blown head gasket...

I dunno, our ‘92 Astro Van got over 300k out of the 4.3 Vortec/4spd auto combo... But then I think the Astro was only “technically” considered a minivan...

Oh I get what you mean 100%. I would liked to have met him.

I love how you put him in all caps, I can imagine his earnestness sounding like shouting...

They’re only hard to find sometimes... Every so often the Navy sends a fast attack on a southern run, and we hear everything.

A little rusty, but a damn good truck...

Such cute little cars, and they made the family business a bunch of money in the 70's. My Grandad’s body shop in Charleston was the only one between Atlanta and Raleigh that had the jigs to do the work.

Exactly, it’s why we called SSK’s mobile minefields. If they are in position, they are holes in the water. When we played with the Portuguese Type 212 it really was a waiting game, if we could force them to move, we had’em. At least that’s what the sonar girls told me... I was a nuke back aft. IJP (I Just Push)

Recruiting isn’t hard, lots of guys will volunteer. Keeping them on the boat is the tough part. I spent most of my sea tour shorthanded because new guys kept ending up at medical on mental issues, (not sure who that says more about, us or them...)

Yes, those are a source of nightmares to my coworkers in the Sewer Dept. The wife brought some home, I burned them...

Shipmate, I know you T-hull fairies had everything but a swimming pool on board, but Natural gas for cooking? That’s a new one to me... USS Hartford 04-11 here.

Hell of a lot less oxygen for making Iron Oxide at 17,000 feet down... LOL.
