... also, you may have gotten ‘worked up’ at the beginning of our disagreement, but you argue in pretty good faith, which I respect. It has been good to get your perspective.

ok, I think you have me interested in this one - I’ll definitely give it a try, it certainly seems to be well regarded from the little I’ve researched.

oh cool; you’re probably getting to the more consistently good stuff right about now .. my son introduced me to it a few years ago and I had my doubts, but after a couple of so-so episodes very early on I found it just got better and better ... the 2nd season in particular is superb. I hope you continue to enjoy it!

Well I feel we’ve reached a point of understanding each other, if not entirely agreeing, and that’s progress of a kind as the late Christopher Hitchens used to say - I’m content that we’ve worked our way through the discussion and let me assure you I’ve read everything you read and taken it on board and you’ve given

Well I suppose I can live with Byrne being somewhat of a whackjob when he’s such a talented artist. No idea if he still works in comics or not though .. as I mentioned earlier, the death of Guardian really freaked me out as a kid; I think, apart from the surprise that Alpha Flight’s leader was the one to bite the

Well, he’s arguably mentioned, but certainly not seen. I’d argue that his fate is still pretty up in the air. Perhaps we can rule out death.

no I can relate to her situation; sometimes you work hard toward something only to realise that its not what you actually wanted when you get there ... also, I don’t think its the nuts and bolts of the job that bothers her so much as the fact that these are insanely rich, unrelatable people, and her talents might be

I love the fact that Kim’s entire current career crisis has played out without the character uttering a single word of exposition on the matter.

I’ve thought the same thing, and the fact that unlike many of the main players in BCS Nacho’s ultimate fate is unknown adds an extra layer of tension to the possible outcomes in store for him and his poor father.

Hmm.

You are rather precious. Clearly you didn’t literally say those words. I doubt anyone reading my post could possibly confuse the matter, particularly considering your actual post is a leisurely scroll away.

Thanks for the response.

Where did I ever put my speculation in republican/democratic terms? I didn’t. Posters seem to be very quick to make that assumption, which is interesting. Also, I never so much as implied that I ‘don’t like’ anyone. I’ll cop to using a superior tone, but that’s par for the course on this site.

I accept your take on early Star Wars, to an extent. I certainly don’t think George Lucas is a bad dude at all (and yes I realise he no longer runs the show, anyway). But I’m not Asian, I’m not Black, I’m not a woman, I’m not part of a minority. His universe, while having some small token of inclusiveness, was

Hmm, I’d have specifically invoked Trump if I had wanted to - but I think its a bit too convenient to assume that only one side of politics have supporters who feel disempowered and seek to compensate in ineffectual ways.

Thanks for your response.

I simply did not say those things. I never mentioned Trump, and never made a claim that ‘all’ superhero fans were one particular way. Go back and read them again if you like, you’ll find no evidence of either claim.

hm, you’re right, but only in the most pedantic kinda way - thanks for your editorial input though.

how long is a dude in a flying metal suit cool for?

Star Wars is about a multi-cultural rebellion?
