love the Clipperton story too, capped by the beautiful description of a photograph taken of the trouble young tennis player and Mario.

Succinctly put; that was similar to my experience also.
Got more and more enjoyable as it went along. I think about it often and consider reading it again.
Coalition building?
Um, just interacting with others on a message board about a show I'm enjoying.
That's sheer paranoia mate. I'll leave it there, all the best to you!
Word count?? What are you talking about??
Point me in the direction of just one post where you've contributed constructive, insightful criticism. I'll respond to that.
Maybe go for a walk, get some sleep, have a cup of tea or get back on the meds, as your efforts in this thread have been an embarrassment on every…
Lost what?
You've lost your fucking mind.
You've pissed all over this thread, dragging your bottom lip like a heartbroken child because you're bored with the Dougie plot. Oh and you think twin peaks should be located solely in twin peaks. That's the extent of your criticism and insight. Apart from that you've insulted a…
That's just embarrassing.
'I don't like this' does not constitute criticism.
Also, you forgot to flash your solid gold Lynch-fan credentials, and also to assure me that you absolutely do 'get it', maaaan.
You had one fuckin job! You sure you got this?
Btw I'd be fine with you acronising to 'ENC' to make things a little simpler for you!
Well I look forward to your critique then - just sticking with the tantrums this week though huh?
Or does your version of criticism consist solely of writing 'Emperors New Clothes' in all-caps whilst assuring everyone of how, as a huuuuge Lynch fan, you still totally 'get it'?
Admittedly that is quality stuff - looking…
No need to apologise, if you're content sitting through a show you can't stand just so you can throw a histrionic tantrum every week you go for it!
Make sure to mention Emperors New Clothes every other post and to be hyper-defensive over the fact that you are a *massive* Lynch fan who *totally* 'gets it' - fuck I've…
Baby steps.
Read a comment earlier with someone saying they were 'really enjoying' Twin Peaks S3 but that the Dougie bits were starting to drag and that he/she was compelled to start looking at their phone to alleviate the boredom.
Put the fucking phone down!
I'm with you %100 and am frankly surprised that so many self-professed huge Lynch fans around AV club are so put out by the Return so far - I don't think I've ever seen such sulking and tantrum throwing on this site before.
I've loved every moment of this new Lynch/Frost effort and have been very much relieved that the…
As a Lynch fan it is definitely something he plays with regularly. Suspension of disbelief isn't as big a consideration for him as is creating a tone/atmosphere that he feels is appropriate.
Drawing attention to the artifice of the acting performs a number of functions in his work.
Wow this is one of the most oddly defensive posts I think I've ever read
It seems like this is *exactly* what a certain type of fan would love to see.
I found them both kind of funny - the staging of the hit and run was hilarious, with the truck driver kindly gesturing the kid to cross and the mother looking up to him warmly and gratefully. The trucker's methodical facepalm as he realized the extent of his error was priceless.
I feel similarly; when I heard Lynch and Frost were dusting off Twin Peaks I was not confident they'd be able to pull it off.
My expectations were low, *but* I think what I dreaded most was a nostalgic box-ticking exercise in which we see all the familiar faces and tropes.
so are you going to stop watching?
so are you going to stop watching?
nope.
