Um, yes, saying something ‘helps’ signifies that there is a causal relationship. The authors say ‘physical touch would predict increases in both individual and group performance’. That’s causal.
This is awful research. There is a *correlation* between touching and winning, even after controlling for other variables, but this study DOES NOT demonstrate touching *causes* winning. The authors should have made this explicitly clear, but they did not.
