As a fellow UVa alum, (about a decade later than Tina, sadly) I just want to see that you need to give people a chance to grieve a bit. My fourth year at UVa (yes, I’m going to use our annoying, pretentious nomenclature) I was good friends with a girl who had the honor to live on the Lawn. She’s African-American.

Alright, I guess we just need to agree to disagree on Confederate. You are obviously more than welcome to not watch it. I just struggle with the labels being thrown about (not from you, but in general) about people who are intrigued by the show and do intend to watch it.

I get that some people were late to the party with realizing that 45 is a piece of shit, but shouldn’t we be glad for every new member on the bandwagon? I don’t care what the final straw was for anyone, as long as they’ve come to the correct conclusion. So instead of being snarky that people didn’t see it sooner,

And my point is that, even if you want to call them cosplayers and downplay the events on Saturday, Nazis as a group have not disappeared in our country either. Yes, there are more Confederate battle standards (not actual Confederate flags, but these folks who love to point to history can’t be bothered to learn it)

My point from the start of this has been that Confederacy is no different from Man in the High Castle. Both are alternative history about a different side winning a war and the effect that had on American history afterward. Both of these “different sides” are built on an ideology of bigotry and hatred. I don’t

People whose entire ideology is based on hatred and bigotry are sure as hell a threat. If you think the people carrying torches, chanting racist and anti-semitic slogans, and KILLING PEOPLE aren’t a threat, then I’d love to get a hole in the sand next to yours to stick my head in.

Didn’t think nationality made that big of a difference. I was always taught that a Nazi is a Nazi, no matter what language they speak. Guess we should give all the Nazi supporters in France, Poland, etc. during WWII a pass then as well, right?

I hate to break it to you, but you might want to check the news from this weekend. There WERE Nazis marching in the US. The idea of Nazis making a mark on our country is actually extremely current as well. To claim that there is no connection is pretty damn short-sighted.

So Man in the High Castle is ok because it’s GERMAN Nazis, as opposed to the literal Nazis in Charlottesville killing someone and hurting 20 others? How is Man in the High Castle this beacon of what’s ok, but Confederate is not? If this show is done well, it could actually illuminate the current state of America FAR

The fascinating aspect of this is that THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WE WOULD EXPECT KIM JONG UN TO DO. He is acting EXACTLY like a tyrant of a country with no freedom and no opportunity to present a dissenting opinion.

He also survived multiple assassination attempts in which he ended up beating the ever-loving shit out of his would be assassins. Also, he hid hundreds of pounds of moldy cheese in the White House when he left just to fuck with Martin Van Buren. This is not an enemy you want to have.

That “mess of an offensive line” is actually really solid. Joe Thomas has never missed a pro bowl, or a snap, and is the consensus for a first ballot Hall of Famer. Joel Bitonio got off to a great start before getting hurt, and Kevin Zeitler is considered one of the best right guards in the league. J.C. Tretter may

Yeah, and Timothy McVay spent a lot of days NOT blowing up federal buildings. That doesn’t make the one day that he did statistically insignificant to his life as a whole.

Pretty sure “a few” denotes fewer than, what, 10-15 in the past 6 months?

If “roughly half the population” thinks cops should keep shooting unarmed minorities with no consequences, then we’re pretty well fucked, and Kaepernick should be the LEAST of our concerns.

As a Browns fan, I would LOVE the Ravens to sign RG3. It would be so nice to see the sacks that lead to picks BENEFIT us this year.

Let’s chill a bit on the broad stroke comments, here. This is NOT what “White America” wanted. As a white person who voted for Hillary, this is definitely not what I wanted.

Which is great until he’s not on the team anymore.

...I think I found the voter fraud...

This is either brilliant, or great irony. Either way, I am highly entertained.
