I think I’ve sat in the exact same panels as you...
I prefer three questions over the total bullshit “I have a three-part question” when there’s no connection between them. At least when they say they have three, the moderator can tell them to fuck off because they only get one.
Yeah, but you could only put, like, 10 bucks on it, if you could even find a book that would take that, because you still need to turn the rest into a living wage.
“Sober.” Quotation marks are important :-P
Being “sober” is rough. Everyone’s too loud and the lights are too bright in the mornings.
Do you remember last year’s bracket? I barely remember ‘Nova won.
About 35 years ago, my dad lived in a house on a river owned by a dentist that lived in the manor next door. There was a stray dog that started coming around and was really friendly.
Are you a Wahoo? Because I definitely had them picked to win my bracket, but that’s because I’m a homer.
In my mental version of this, you go back exactly 1 year, with only $50. You’re not surviving till October and the Cubs victory on $50. So you’ve got to get a couple of good pulls in the next day or two just to eat, then parlay enough small bets into reasonable ones to be able to rent a place to sleep.
That’s partially where I’m going with it. It’s more what kept more conservatives from voting for Hillary because they couldn’t stomach siding with the people who had spent the past 20 years calling them racist Nazis, etc. The same reason that a lot of liberals would struggle to vote for McCain, had he run against…
Oh, it’s definitely not one-sided. I was using the example with the most recent election. But the finger-pointing and “He started it!” claims don’t get us anywhere.
It’s funny how many “sorry, it’s the Monday after Daylight Saving Time, I’m just extra cranky” responses I’ve seen on here today. I feel like the Monday after the time change really needs to be a Federal Holiday. Maybe Trump Appreciation Day, as we’re observing how we all just got completely screwed by an outdated…
But, if Texas seceded, would that mean that the Cowboys couldn’t be part of the NFL anymore? Because I’m suddenly rethinking this...
Sorry, I must have read your post with more vitriol and less snark than intended.
And, based on this response, I’m doubting that you put much thought into ideas brought to you by conservatives. The “us/them” mentality that is becoming stricter and stricter prevents any kind of meaningful conversation.
I agree completely. And the options presented were “here is everything you want, I can give it to you, don’t ask how,” or “this group of people who has belittled you for the past 20 years is putting forth someone that you had deep reservations about, but vote for her anyway or we’ll keep calling you racists.”
As I read through more posts here, I saw one that really resonated, and which I think is germane to this discussion. A big piece of the Trump-stravaganza was reaction to conservatives being called dumb, or ignorant, or racist by liberals for the past 20 years. The amount of vitriol involved in so many conversations…
So, you’re willing to not blame people for being born poor, or sick, or any number of other things. But a person born into a red state and raised with those beliefs deserves to not have health care, or starve?
Isn’t “check the weather report for the last month” usually pretty high up on the anti-climate change arguments? It’s a bit short-sighted.
Plus, if Osweiler has offsetting language in his contract (which he probably does) they can cut him, let someone else pick him up and negotiate a new contract, and owe him less money.
