I've been meaning to re-read lately too. This has pushed me over the edge.

Please let this be good. The books are the best.
Agreed. I got there mostly from my Kids In The Hall obsession and the fact that Mark's brother was a cast member. But I remember Vacant Lot being pretty great.
Good point. Less Frank Oz is never a good thing. I was just saying to a friend earlier that if I could convince any one celebrity to write a tell-all autobiography it would be Frank Oz. Muppets stories. Star Wars stories. SNL stories. Blues Brothers stories. Bowfinger stories. It would likely be amazing.
I suppose I am. They are not for me
I can see that. I grew up when the original series was on. It was my favorite thing in the world. I can only imagine that had I been younger when the '90s movies were released, I would have loved them too. But it was all too weird. I know this sounds goofy, but when Henson died it felt like my best friend died,…
To be fair, I never watched it. But I have heard people say good things about it. Maybe it's time I checked it out?
I would never want to take away your enjoyment of anything. Believe me, I wish I could love new Muppets stuff the same way I loved the old stuff. I know I'm in the minority when it comes to Christmas Carol.
I went to see a Rowlf retrospective at the Museum Of Moving Image a few years back, and it touched on this. It was a very sweet thing to do
I would have to disagree. I know people love that movie, but I'm not a fan of any of the Disney Muppets stuff. The thing I loved about the Muppets was that they told original stories. Then, after Henson died, they made adaptations of classic stories staring the Muppets. Not for me.
Very true
It definitely would have been strange. But honestly, the Muppets haven't done anything approaching good since his death. Maybe it would have been better to let the whole thing go down gracefully? Do something new with the creature workshop. Keep Sesame Street around. But something about anyone else doing Kermit's…
Kermit should have never been recast after Henson's death. That should have been the end of Kermit. The two were essentially the same entity. It'd be like getting someone else to write and draw the Peanuts cartoon.
"comedian"
I read that too, but that update actually went live this morning! Working for me now.
Agreed. Here's hoping that isn't too far away. Although I instantly realized I'm far more comfortable playing platformers with the Pro Controller's actual d-pad.
"Gerald!"
It sure does! I have been singing "when do we ride into Jerusalem" whilst hopped up on invincibility stars for a very long time now.
"What's knee cheese?" - Justin Bieber
I always thought that the scariest episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents was the one where Michael Bay had a hand in remaking The Birds. Eerie stuff!
