I would hate a biographical movie about me that ended in my supposed assassination as well.
Brienne traipsing about all the countryside for a knighthood while Ser Pounce sits smugly in the Red Keep.
See, I THOUGHT I remembered that.
For me it boils down to the fact that this issue would be a lot easier for me to be offended at if it wasn't executed so well.
I thought you were going into a "Tilda Swinton is so inscrutable and mystical" angle but ya sneaked up on me with the "women in Hollywood lol" punchline~
I can understand getting oversold on that kind of storyline recently. I guess writers are still in a trap where writing a traditionally "gay" character and writing a non-traditionally "gay" character are equally problematic for different people. Kinda like how if you write a damsel in distress you get your head bitten…
Making up scenes of Six Feet Under in my head it is, then!
And I think that they explicitly talked about it between the characters about how Keith didn't feel like he "fit in" with the gay lifestyle stuff that David identified with. Unless I'm imagining scenes of Six Feet Under…
"all over the place"
I count three shows, one of them not even airing anymore.
I definitely feel that Fey & Co. are more concerned with making the funniest show possible than being perfectly politically correct.
Thank you for your very eloquent response to this topic that echoes my own, but I didn't know how to word it exactly.
I'm okay with it, since it ended up giving us Titus singing that lovely little song. Another one for Team Kimmy Schmidt over here.
I honestly enjoyed Kilgrave, but Fisk/Kingpin has been a good turn by D'onofrio.
IMO there's "kind of an asshole" and then there's Season 1 Tandy.
I would echo your frustration at the show seeming to hate its protagonist, but… Phil often engages in terrible behavior and struggles to show an even rudimentary understanding of how to get along with others that tends to justify the behavior. I can understand if that's not a show people are interested in seeing.
In the court of opinions, every man is king.
Saw it at a film fest and it was by far the best thing there. The review really nails it.
Ahhhh, that WAS him!
Here's hoping they defeat him at the end of the season and can move on to some other stuff.
