I think for some of them, they're just not very concerned with Western audiences, or they know that their stories get shared across image boards already and any attempt to break into that market would be a long shot

Props to A.V. Club for covering MASSIVE. I think it's one of the boldest attempts at expanding an audience in the Western market in a long time, and the actual product itself is spectacularly entertaining and enlightening.

While I find a lot of Tagame's stuff way, way, way too extreme to find arousing, the fact that we got official, exclusive Jiraiya in this book, along with a cute Ebisubashi story is great. I really hope we can get physical releases of some of their work in standalone books in the future.

Yeah, I just don't see most enthusiasts in the West stop using "bara" even if it makes Japanese creators scrunch their noses in disgust when they hear it. It's too ingrained at this point. But I personally have tried to stop using it and educate those whom I see continuing to do so~
