What is there to show you how great a character Macbeth is in this ep, though? I feel like a lot of people are looking at this episode through the eyes of someone who's seen all 65 episodes already and not as someone taking this one episode on its own merits.
Eh, he's the same quasi-swarthy tone that Xanatos is, if I recall, and we're lumping Greeky Xanatos in with all the other White characters, so…
I really like the choice to have the laser blasts provide the lighting in the Deadly Force fight. Made it look much more visually interesting.
He's already trashed PLENTY of their stuff at the castle; so much so that the people hiring him were like, "Stop destroying our stuff."
I was hoping against hope for a long time that Kingdom Hearts (as much as I think the games are crap) would include some of the peripheral Disney Afternoon stuff. Imagine Elisa Maza and Aya Brea from Parasite Eve teaming up in NYC against the Heartless? Or Xanatos and Shere Khan from Tale Spin scheming together??
I had legit feels rewatching this after so long. I especially appreciated the horrified gasp Broadway has when he looks at all the literal blood on his hands (claws?).
Also, why does Macbeth keep fighting Goliath after it's perfectly clear he's not an inroad to Demona???
I'm glad that the episode was called out not just for its lackluster animation, but also the lazy writing. Fans are usually quick to point out how awful the animation in the episode is, but they tend to forget just how shabby the rest of the episode is, too; mostly because there are a lot of plot developments going on…
I can't help but think the show wants me to think she was the one he was having sex with during the disappearance, but that would've made her seriously criminally young.
Gramps is ripped, jeez.
It was a little wrenching for me to watch that!
Agreed that this episode left me feeling really sort of sad and upset.
All of a sudden I know that Black Box exists and am extremely interested in it~
What a weird thing to get all territorial about, too. No need to one-up Goliath, Macbeth, you could just reply "yes!"
I would not want to see whatever Diva fight Fox and Hyena would get into.
That Dingo line really hammered home upon rewatch the weird messages I was picking up as a kid about male body image. Dingo's supposed to be FLABBY?
Totally agreed. In the real world if you made a Lexington-caliber mistake, no one would be able to see past it to the idea behind it. I've always remembered the sorts of lessons these shows taught me. I truly believe they've helped me become a better person.
I remember Greg Weisman saying that they were required to include it to advertise the toy.
Didn't even hit the gas tank, either. It clearly hit the front of the bike.
