Its garbage that CEL is allowed anymore. The actual error codes should be displayed on the screens all cars have now. I know of two people who had harmless CELs come on all the time for harmless stuff (Pcv valve and a missing fuel cap) who continued driving assuming the CEL was on because of those reasons...both lost…
