For its place and time, have always thought Dirty Harry was one of those rare films that was perfectly cast and directed. Lucky enough to have said just that to Don Siegel at Telluride in the late '80s. He smiled.

Huh.

Jeremiah Johnson holds up better than the lot. Just as involving today as in 1972. As does Tim McIntire's haunting score. And the work of great Sidney Pollack. R.I.P: Swan Johnson

All I know is that in this episode the new King of the North blew any chance whatsoever of winning this year's Westeros "Man of the Year" Award.

Agreed on both counts. Heard a bored McQueen did some gratis stunt work for his old pals on Dixie Dynamite during the shoot back in 1975. Hadn't ever seen the flick. Tried to watch it on my computer (Fandor). Never clearly spotted Steve on any cycle. Sadly McQueen, Oates, George, and Peckinpah would all be gone

Just funnin', phony Oatsie. The real Warren and Dennis Hopper were actually pals. See "Kid Blue" sometime. Old flick that also doesn't work today, but must have been a blast to make in 1972. Another fave story I read about is the boys burning weed with Peckinpah in Sam's studio director's trailer on the Warner back

Easy now, Warren. Just watched Dixie Dynamite (1976) where you were out acted by usually wooden Chris George and upstaged by an exploding toilet bowl that cut some poor fool in half. Best you stay dead, dude.

Course not. The Band just holds up better for me through the years than Steppenwolf.

You had to be around at the time. "The ending" had special meaning for many. Almost 30,000 US kids alone died in the Nam during 1968/69. Many more from elsewhere. Everybody knew somebody that got it, including me. Most never saw 21. So it goes.

Still worth it for the music, especially legendary Levon:

That "that" is the only reason. Both were good at what they did professionally.

Only that sleazeball Blake is a counterpoint to sleazebag Phil Spector from "Easy Rider."

Maybe Icky Cruz ain't an incubus; Vlad Cheney is definitely a vampire.

What are the current odds on scumbag Ramsey Bolton ?

True, but as an old track tout, still like the odds.

Ya, too bad Locke still ain't around.

I'll go with the old crone at 100 to one.

For sure the first movies seen as a little kid in lush non digital Technicolor, and incredible CinemaScope, that brilliant widescreen process that revolutionized film making.

Kindly zip up your Funking Wagnalls. Thank you.

Oh my God, the villain is the ghost of that guy with the stash from the old Laugh-In show: "Look THAT up in your Funk & Wagnalls."
