Lerner was good, but to be fair, always thought Michael Stuhlbarg nailed the Rothstein role in Boardwalk Empire.

Working in this film with Ebert's old pal, legendary Studs Terkel, had to be awesome in itself. Greatest storyteller that ever lived. As it reads on Studs' tombstone, 'Curiosity never killed this cat.'

Ebert's thumbs down review of "Godzilla" is great fun. Opening line is a true gem. Michael Lerner does garner about the only positive in the review - actor "gamely played" Mayor Ebert. The two did resemble each other. Also miss Roger's sparkling pen and rapier sharp wit. Mostly schmucks at his old website now.

Cinema verite pioneer Robert Drew was not only a damn fine filmmaker, but also an authentic war hero. Recently saw his "From Two Men and a War." Made in 2005, it's an old school retelling of his harrowing experiences as a decorated fighter pilot in WW2. Plus there's a fascinating section on his meeting legendary war
