Guys, I have done the Cannonball, the 2904, and four One Laps of America and I loved every minute of most of them. You only get one pass at life and I didn’t want to spend my senior years sitting in a rocking chair thinking I really should have done that.

No I saw it, I just wanted to throw in a few more references for people to check.

I was using the official Cannonball results list from the One Lap of America website. Plus having run the 79 event myself I’m pretty sure I would have remembered that team. And at the Cannonball reunion last year Judy Stropus did a hilarious retelling of the adventure and their troubles during their outing across the

She ran the Cannonball in 1972 not 79.

For god’s sake, kill it before it gets a chance to breed.

We just had a zipper merge problem Sunday night as we were almost at the finish of the 2904. Near Sacramento there was a big back up as everyone had to merge into one lane. We were driving a 95 Caddy limo when a POS Chevy bolt with an overdeveloped sense of entitlement didn’t want to be polite and leaned on the horn

It’s nice to see you are moving up by trashing nicer cars than the Baja Bug.

The car looks properly prepped, were they using a Hans device?

Hey, don’t knock colostomy bags until you try one. They’re a real range extender.

Thank you for finding that shot.

I loved racing there. It was fast and technical.

It could be the early bird special.

Death to the Blasphemer.

Nice job Ed. I will always count myself lucky to have been one of Brock’s merry band of miscreants. His writing and sense of adventure touched many of us. Farewell Brock.

The guys buying this want to feel the wind in what’s left of their hair.

And the reason for the nomex is?

It really is odd. The first thing I thought of when the photo was, Oh a green bug. Then oh yea there’s a guy on the ground.

Amen.

WIN.
