Yeah, but the show was never the same after Don Knotts left. He WAS the show.

WESTWORLD started with Benjamin as the buddy of the guy we would normally persume to be the action hero, that's why it's such a surprize that he gets gunned down by Yul Brenner's character, leaving the weakling to fend for himself.

But weren't those characters just the female equivilent of the male star's dateless sidekick, the comedy relief character?

He was also in the film noir classic "Laura" as a snooty radio personality. I think some people might be familiar with him from that. He also played an American snob obsessed with breaking into European aristocracy in the the original movie version of "The Razor's Edge".

Mr. Peabody's original voice and personality was based on '40s actor Cifton Webb who played the original Mr. Belevedere, world's smartest man, in a series of movies.
