I got all the way to the “sudo sh -e ~/Downloads/crouton -t xfce” part and I let my chrome-book install crouton. After that I entered “sudo startxfce4" and it says initializing build-in extension shape and similar things like that for a few pages and then it said: fatal server error: no screens found.
