Even more of an argument that too few episodes were the problem. In the show's golden age, this story-line would have been spread out across the season and there would be no need to rush Mulder into believing in the new conspiracy ten minutes into the first episode.

Carter should hand off the mythology episodes to someone else next time. I know I'm in the minority but I actually didn't mind his standalone episode Babylon — though it was the weakest of the standalones — but those first and last episodes were an embarrassment. The mythology episodes used to be the most exciting

I thought the alien arc actually made more sense and came across better when binge-watched compared to being dragged out over 9 years. Though in Seasons 8 and 9 it was pretty weak. In fact in season 9, I'd say those episode were close to unwatchable.

This new release has the 3 missing bits that were in the US broadcasts. But the old set did have 2 comic relief sketches (Blind Date and Torvill & Bean) that were essentially 2 extra episodes of the show. I think I'd rather have those than the 3 deleted scenes that were maybe a minute each. Wish they could have
