Digging into this a little bit on a wiki. Assuming the information is reliable, it’s always possible that the presumed Bloodraven (the “Three-Eyed Crow” in the books) is lying about his identity in the books. That is, that the Bloodraven is a separate character from the Three-Eyed Crow.

I think the Three-Eyed Raven is future Bran. The “downloading” (should be “uploading”) of information from TER to Bran that the showrunners mentioned in the “Inside the Episode” supposedly “short-circuited” Hodor, which I interpret as triggering his latent warg powers. So, yes, I do think that past Hodor (Wyliis?)

The names probably have significant allusions to the allegories for the characters’ paths that you mention.

Could “the Faceless Men” be one of those disguises?

The more I think of the Three-Eyed Raven’s lines to Bran over season 6 (especially this episode), as well as the book line “No, but you will fly,” the more this theory makes sense. Is anyone else talking about this?

I read a lot of these replies, but, as a fan primarily of the show who is ashamedly lacking enough familiarity with the books, I was wondering: are there any theories that the Three-Eyed Raven/Bloodraven could be future Bran stuck in the past for a millennium?

The rumor is that, whereas dream sequences were scarce in the past films and flashbacks were non-existant, this film (and likely the rest of the sequel trilogy) will make liberal use of them. I thought I might have seen some Jedi corpses and a funeral pyre in what could be flashbacks/dream sequences in the new
