Funny, Autoblog has an article today from Popular mechanics about how this idea is being revived as we speak- this time to avoid roadside bombs and to evac the wounded- I believe there was a similar article from Wired referenced here earlier this month.

Can I change my answer to yesterday's QOTD?

@Ian Derbyshire: +1 for the Half Baked reference. Abba Zaba, you're my only friend...

I told him to go with a 'Fantasia" theme for his rapemobile. They never listen...

@BlueRSX: That's one ugly chick. Wait a minute... Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Ky has built some ridiculous, over the top, ass-hair twisting creations over the decades- he's a real inspiration for Jalops of all ages :) Here he is with his rocket belt (and you're damned right it's chromed!)

@spiegel1: Noooooo! Not ClooneyMan! lol

hehehe...

@Mrb00st: I mentioned this car when Toyota started babbling about how great their solar powered fan was a year or so ago, and everyone looked at me as if to say, "Toyota has had every original Idea since the dawn of time!"

@cmdrfire: There's a company in Australia (where else??) building these now. Insanity, thy name is Aussie.

...And the Cadillac Sixteen...

I can't decide between the Cadillac Cien...

Slogan fail?

WAKE UP PEOPLE! That's the REAL Optimus Prime, hiding in plain sight! They're not movies, they're historical accounts! The cake is a lie! Soylent Green is PEOPLE!

@Fordboy357: They're gills. This is Submariner Optimus Prime. ;)

For that price, you could buy a decent E30 AND a mini truck. Brechen piepen, mein fuhrer.

@subsammy: I had to pass my test in a 1973 Chevy Stepvan (UPS truck, basically) converted into an RV. Stickshift, no rear window. Parallel parking was a challenge... Last thing I ever drove that still had split rims. *shudder*
