My favorite key change/big ending is "You're No Good" by Linda Ronstadt.

These hot flashes have me burning up.

Disclaimer - Huge Go-Gos/Belinda fan, not so crazy about Bon Jovi. But I don't hear any resemblance between these two songs at all. Can someone explain the similarity?

So the guy who just said he wouldn't expect the AV Club to know about hard work would prefer if we just didn't generalize?

A few years ago, before the Subaru ads, Cadillac used the Pogues' "On the Sunny Side of the Street" - in their SUV ads. I remember thinking it had a very "when worlds collide" vibe.

I'd vote for the a cappella "Hallelujah Chorus" that opens Keep on Doing by the Roches.

I was never a fan of Whitney Houston. Oh, there was no denying her talent, and I could cry when I think about how she went from "top of the world" to "died too young" while the world basically stood by and laughed. I just didn't care for her music.

I agree that Queen of the Nile is on the dull side, but I've always liked Ann "Veda Pierce" Blyth so I'll usually watch it if it's on. But I agree that it raises more questions than it answers, the big one for me being:

The song "Terry" by Kirsty MacColl contains one of the worst couplets in music history followed immediately by one of the best. Kirsty is describing her new boyfriend, Terry, to her old boyfriend:

Your mention of "Mr. Sellack" by the Roches made my day.

I can only take so much Belle & Sebastian before I want to kill someone, but Judy and the Dream of Horses from If You're Feeling Sinister is sublime. Also, I agree with the caution against Beat Happening, but Calvin deserves props for being part of one of the best songs of the 90s, C is the Heavenly Option, with

out, baby, out!

This movie will always be special to me… I saw it for the first time when I was five (some might argue that's the perfect age to appreciate most of the gags). Over the years it became one of those movies where I could drop in at any point and watch a few scenes, and my brother and I have most of the lines memorized.

Look, when a girl is six foot two, she's bound to have special problems.

Madeline Kahn's performance was excellent as well. The speech where she tries to cajole Addie back to the car is brilliant.
