Jen, you aren’t as objective as you seem to wish Ethan would be. Calling him out as a fanboy makes you seem more like a fanboy yourself.

Sounds like this isn’t the only thing preventing you from playing FF games, friend.  It sounds like this falls into the category of confirmation bias, more than anything else.

You do know that other people have different backgrounds, perspectives, visions, and goals, yes?  It’s fine that your hype for this game is dead and I would absolutely encourage you to play Skyrim if you, you know, want to play Skyrim. 

Maybe in theory, but I have never played a game that had “sufficient” levels of diversity and felt MORE satisfied than I would have otherwise.  I think that a lot of people give it more thought than they should.

If you think a game is bland, then don’t play it.  There will be other games.  If you are finding that NO games meet these standards, then make your own game.
