My main problem with this constant complaint is that the book also makes it clear that Halliday’s and the gunters’ obsession was very unhealthy and not a best-lived life. I also quickly got tired of all the “Hey, such-and-such was 90s, not 80s!!!!” comments - the game is about the 80s, OASIS had everything from all

It’s an awfully pale port wine stain here, and I think it covered her face a lot more in the book. I’m okay with that, just think they minimized it. It bothers me more that she’s supposed to be more average body type, even a little overweight, wasn’t her avatar described as more Rubenesque, and she made a lot of money

Yeah, I didn’t mean to sound like I’m the only person to think of it, I’ve seen it in restaurants, too.

I think I would love the extra flavor chorizo would add.

Most of our family favorites that people rave over are straight out of that old red and white kind of gingham cookbook - I think it’s Better Homes and Garden. I bought a newer version when I was well into my 30s, was disappointed that most of our old favorites were no longer in it.

Ooh, I’ve never tried half and half, that sounds good. I add a can of cream of mushroom soup and a few ounces of cream cheese. But then, I also start by cooking ground beef and then adding all the cheese and Ro-Tel and stuff. My queso is more of a meal. It all started with that basic Ro-Tel recipe, but I would ask

School Ties

I feel the same way. I first thought it would be great to spend more time with her back story, growing up, being trained by her father, but then realized that may not last past the 1st episode. Then I thought, maybe they could have Kung Fu type flashbacks throughout each episode, her remembering him teaching her

I couldn’t even watch that part.

There’s a book?

Ha, that’s probably not a bad summary! I was in churches like that for a while, don’t want to go back. I am a Christian, don’t usually want to jump into these discussions with #notallchristians, but I thought I could at least help interpret that particular language for you.

don’t receive it when somebody threatens you with ‘Everybody’s getting the flu!’

As much as I love the idea of a Scotland trip with good friends, either the dog or the kitchen sound like better long term, ongoing contributions to your happiness and general mental health :)

I have a male family member who will go on and on about how some people get offended at everything, like they’ve made it their job to be offended, etc., etc. I finally said that it’s true some people are easily offended, but that doesn’t mean he’s not being offensive.

If I remember right from the video, there was at least one car stopped in the left lane and the car that hit Venus was in the far right lane and might not have been able to see her, but they also seemed to go flying into a large, multi-lane intersection immediately after the light turned green, really hard for them to

So jealous, still regret getting rid of my VHS original trilogy, even though I know that I probably wouldn’t have a machine to play them on now (and the tapes might not have lasted this long). Still hoping they figure out how much money the would make releasing an affordable original version.

And yet, “et all” didn’t bother you?

I am fairly low contact. Sounds like you feel a lot like I do after seeing my family. I just wanted to add that I’ve been working more on being no-sharing as that makes what contact we do have a lot easier. Pretty much most everything I say about myself or my life is met with criticism, dismissive sneering, or reams

AAHH, I didn’t even know Richard Harris had an acting son, and I’ve even seen him in a couple of things. He would be perfect! What is wrong with these people! I don’t mind Jude Law too much, but seriously!

Realizing that it was abuse and how much it still affects me was a huge first step for me. The voices...I have to talk back to them, to remind myself it’s not my voice, it’s not my truth but my abuser’s. Journaling has helped, mindful meditation/distraction by reading, creative activities, or just doing something,
