I still need to see that 1st movie.

I guess I thought Tim Allen’s lack of charisma and sex-appeal was the point. At least, I had pretty much the same opinion of Shatner’s Captain Kirk.

That’s....actually kind of a scary story. Glad they brought you back.

What makes even more horrific is that generally in these cases they are punishing the woman for something one of her male relatives did. I don’t think this article described how truly despicable this case was. From one of the linked articles:

That Penguin box set, it’s beautiful, but is anyone else bothered by the titles/words going the wrong way. That’s making my OCD tendencies really twitch. I don’t think I could have that on my bookcase, even upside down, because I would know it’s upside down. It just bothers me.

I enjoy hanging out in mindless YA novel land :). I also pretty much like and recommend what everyone else has said here, just wanted to add two lighter, standalone books of John Scalzi, Fuzzy Nation and Agent to the Stars.

Oh, I liked the island itself, especially that lovely center lagoon. There’s just something about the massive ocean depths that I find disturbing.

I did a slow zoom out on that, one click at a time. There was something primally terrifying about the massive amount of black/blue depths that slowly swallowed up that tiny island.

Oh, she met Neelix. Now I understand her decision to stay on boring, 3-city new Earth and not go adventuring on the long journey back to old Earth.

I like the Stormlight books a lot better than Mistborn.

I’ve only seen him on Law and Order: SVU. I think he’s a terrible actor. Hated him on SVU for about half a season. And yet...somehow he grew on me. I still think he’s a terrible actor, but somehow I don’t mind anymore and I like him now when I see him in stuff?

I just keep a handful of individually packaged foam earplugs in my purse now, recently bought a whole box of them. It’s the only way I can watch a movie now, and I can understand the actual talking/dialogue a lot better with them in. I’m probably a little bit on the spectrum. They’re reusable, but I like the

lots of cat hugs!!!

Condescension is a special form of deniable abuse, isn’t it?

My favorite part, when half his body is covered with attack of the baby cactuses (cacti?), and the camera guy is all, “Did you get the tarantula hawk, at least?”

Sorry your year has been so bad! Also, if you have Amazon Prime, this is a great relaxing video with soothing music and videos big cats looking happy and peaceful. I like to just leave it on.:

That looks like such a beautiful place to live. It’s like these people are just trying to make themselves unhappy.

Making it more about the whole Grindewald reign of terror gives me some hope. I was having a lot of trouble imaging 5 movies of Newt’s adventures.

I like the Eskimo one, too. Definitely with some tights or tight pants and a t-shirt to cover the boobage...I’d wear that one. Would calling it a Siberian princess or Laplander or something make it less offensive? Still cultural appropriation, I guess.

1990s, so not really, but maybe? In all fairness, she was probably still in training or not far out of it when we had that conversation. But that was still very much an era of doctors’ unspoken assumption that patient’s complaints of pain were 90% whining. Not sure that era has left us yet. (I have a lot of doctors in
