Actually, the Kessel Run is about plotting the shortest and therefor quickest route through a region of space that's basically a hornet's nest of black holes. The Falcon's navicomputer and speed is good enough to plot a short route through that mess and succeed and Han's crazy enough to actually think of trying it.
