I also know that energy for heating can easyly exceed energy from sun. That said, the "E roads" are not perfect or cheap or even ultimate solution, but there is good idea behind it.

Again, watch their presentation, water is chanelled through technology tunels and there is some more thinking to do about it. (I do not understand what they are gonna do about freezing it again since it left heated area, or how about grip and roadnoise for example.)
