Gaming is wonderful and there are more incredible games available than ever, with plenty of amazing games in the works. But at the same time it feels like games, including AAA’s are getting consistently worse so that we’re simultaneously in a time where it’s the best time ever to be a gamer and the worst time ever to…
That’s the thing though. You’d be a pretty niche gamer to have never played two of the biggest rpg series of all time, but also be the sort of person who wants to. The deal makes sense at this point, but I can’t imagine who this user base is. Maybe zoomers who are just getting into it.
Seriously, what even is the point in starting a show anymore? Although at least with this people can experience how the story ends with the books I guess.
I bet whichever Netflix exec red stamped this is kicking himself for axing a show that was both quite popular and unaffected by the Writer’s Guild of America strike. They could have rushed this into production, and it would have been the only thing on the air in 8 months time.
No wait... that would require both…
For something clearly aimed at angsty teen audiences, this was surprisingly good. I didn’t realize Joe ‘Attack the Block’ Cornish and Edgar Wright were involved, but that... actually explains a lot.
I hope in a few years, all of these actors get cast in Doctor Who (the guy who played Lockwood is basically David Tenant…
Well, fuck, I really loved that show. I was hopeful for a Season 2, since it had great reviews accross the board and did decent viewership numbers. That's usually sign of a show with growth potential. But I guess Netflix doesn't do growth.
This is a real shame, I enjoyed Lockwood & Co and was hoping for more - should’ve known better after Netflix did the same to The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself, a thoroughly enjoyable adaptation of Half Bad by Sally Green.
We all know better by now, but I gotta admit, this one hurts. I liked the small changes they made from the books and hoped to continue to enjoy them in a second season.
Damn, I just finished binge-watching this series a few days ago and I really liked it.
This is pretty impressive but its way way overinflated. Take the mewtwo for example. Base set mewtwo (not shadowless) is currently selling for $30-$40 ungraded on TCGplayer in NM condition.
He claimed that its a $150-200 card. PSA 9 is selling for ~$100ish
The shadowless one he says is $800-$1200 while I can easily get…
it used to be like “and this mark here means that this was made by Edwin Berksire in 1832 in Lower Spankton-on-the-Glenn, where he built a reputation for these whimsical flourishes that made the jug handles look like the king’s ears. Edwin tragically died in The Great Pig Fire of 1854, so now his works go for a great…
It’s goanna make me sound like an old fuddy duddy, but this is why I like the older episodes of antiques roadshow. I like seeing old furniture, dinner sets, porcelain, other knick knacks, but have no interest in this new crop of “antiques” like this or some piece of technology from the 80's.
TIL there’s an American version of Antiques Roadshow
Which raises the question, if things are mostly fine but people still lose their shit anyway, what caused that? Do people have overinflated expectations that reality could never live up to? Have people forgotten how to handle mild disappointment in a reasonable way? I certainly think those are both true in individual…
The majority of PC ports are fine. Not necessarily perfect but they look and run well for the majority of players. Bad ports are the outliers. They just get a lot more attention because negativity gets more clicks. RE4 Remake was fine. Grounded was fine. Evil West was fine. High on Life was fine. Atomic Heart was…
I’ve been PC gaming on and off for two decades now. I can’t seemed to be bothered with it anymore. Upgrading just isn’t worth it between the prices, especially when games are just more likely to “work” on console.
You really just said “...especially if they have a unique art style.” And then questioned whether or not their unique art style brought it attention.”
Considering it’s art style is the first thing everyone seems to point out, it’s probably the artstyle.
Oddly enough, $1200 for this software is still cheaper than a year’s license for 3D Studio Max or Maya.
That is amazing! 🤩 As somebody with machine embroidery experience, I am totally blown away by the concept of using it for this... 🤯
