don’t forget Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Mine is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

It’s a movie, not a documentary.

Jaws is a great great movie. It’s like comfort food. I’ll watch it when I’m depressed. Same goes for Close Encounters, Real Genius, So I Married an Axe Murderer, Clueless, She’s Out Of My League, and Mean Girls.

Hate iOS and OS X as software all you want, but an iPhone and a MacBook have some of the highest quality materials and best build quality of any consumer devices on the market.

Professional video editor here. I’m wearing those exact Sony’s as I edit right now. They really are the best.

I still see video and audio engineers with the 7506 headphones in their gear bags.

Sony MDR-7506 kick these in the butt, last forever, and cost a fraction of the Bleats.

I am no apple fan and definitely won’t deny they price their stuff at a premium but the quality is definitely there...

Imagine how far $100 million could have gone towards system upgrades that, you know, wouldn't require ATT to screw over their customers.

Did you show up to defend AT&T?

The problem is not that she’s a white person leading an NAACP chapter. The problem is that she’s a white person who seemingly lied about being black and then headed an NAACP chapter.

Would YOU wanna be the person who questioned the racial credentials of the new president of your NAACP chapter? How bad would you look if you were wrong? I think there was plenty of talk but no one wanted to be that person who asked her if she was really black.

Anyone not in engineering. Or marketing. Or sales. Or communications. Or programming. Or.....oh, fuck it. There is no ‘normal’ person.

The same goes for “drone.”

Sure there’s nothing particularly wrong with “quadcopter” (Ok, it is a little awkward), but it doesn’t matter. Language moves as it does, not how some engineering professor at the University of Pennsylvania, or any other person railing against some change, wishes it to move.

Quad’ refers to four. ‘Copter’ is short for helicopter. A quadcopter describes four helicopters. A robot with four rotors is a helicopter, perhaps a quadrotor helicopter. It is not a set of four rotorcrafts.

agreed, you might as well say that helicopter is technically incorrect because the base words means spiral + wing. The wings aren’t spirals, but the air going through them moved in one. Pushing two concepts together to make a new word is exactly why we have time-saving contractions.

There’s nothing wrong with quadcopter. It is descriptive and has a known definition, it doesn’t have to be technically correct.

As you linked to brietbart, I automatically assume that anything you cite from there is probably the opposite of reality
