Why do we say this when the only reason they went away was no one bought one?

They mention that it’s 552 hp for the Audi.

That was the outlier back then. How things have changed...

“It’s not exaggeration to say the M2 marks the return of the ultimate driving machine” - I changed that to: “It’s best to think of this car as a rare outlier that harkens back to the days when all BMW’s were focused on being the ultimate driving machine.” Fixed it so no one will be disappointed when the next 10 new

That doesn’t look like a brake-check. That looks like an unsure driver, coming into a town, that is thinking abou their offramp/exit. Due to the slow truck and merging traffic they’re slow in getting over into the left lane but that’s their goal. You’ll notice that’s what they end up doing.

I’ll age myself but for a while a Pepsi 500 or 250 Suzuki 2 stroke was _hugely_ popular - especially when Kevin Schwantz was riding.

At least they did it swiftly vs decades late and only after bankruptc .

It looks and sounds almost self-defensive. Like they’re worried he’s got something for them. (realizes this is useless conjecture based off an animated gif but WTH)

Good Lord. “Please turn the other way when you hear nasty, bigoted talk. Then it’ll just go away. And even if it doesn’t, I’m much more comfortable not having to think about such uncomfortable topics”

I’m assuming this was snark vs legit.

yeah I guess I’m thinking about the amount of time that has passed. Although maybe it is going on 20 years since it was first launched.

Amazing to think the 1st gen Boxster had a flat 6 and only put out 200 horsepower.

“Am I the only elitist who thinks I’m clever? Or will some others of you join me in a little class warfare?”

Why do some of my posts stay shaded for hours and this one gets through?! Oh the humanity.....

This is a great write up that should really be broken into two parts: 1) What does the inevitable rise of the self driving car mean for the currently performance oriented luxury car makers? 2) Is Lincoln, which has nothing to lose, therefore in the best position to go after this plush ride over performance first?

I think Chevy _compact_ is key here.

My big question is around the brand. Electric cars tend to be most popular with wealthier clientele who both care about the environment and tend to be very brand aware. Not sure how many are going to buy a “Chevy” Hopefully I’m wrong and/or this is the first car that opens up a newer, less brand conscious audience.

That looks a lot like the i3 between that orange color and the wheels?

What’s going on here with “Buyer Guide”? I mean, what value are you guys adding? You sound more like the buyer and less like the guide. Lots of open ended questions that basically don’t get answered.

I think you mention it but it largely depends on the rental car company. If you can buy directly from a reputable car rental company and get one of their more expensive models then it dramatically reduces the chances someone hooned in it. A lot of those miles are from GPS following unsure of where they’re going
