I hate this ending to the point where I don’t want to play the game anymore. It isn’t even that I need a ‘good’ ending where everyone lives merrily ever after, but I do need an ending that is a logical result of the gameplay itself.

The entire ending is hot garbage that fits the entire remit of the game’s attempt at narrative which is appearing to have something to say without saying anything at all. Throughout the entire game it constantly references political issues and names but then drops them before using them as anything but a cheap…
Seems like the reviews for this game overall are split into “this doesn’t take the political stand it could’ve - lukewarm reception” or “they improved/revamped everything from past games - enthusiastic reception.” Probably inevitable (and even understandable) given the context of the game, but much harder to parse as…
It’s a shame so much of the reception of this game and whether it’s “good” seems to be down to whether it takes a stance on US politics as though that’s a thing all games must do now.
Why so much concern for social commentary and well roundedness? Its a brilliant, beautiful, and tactically stimulating game. Really, it seems a little irrelevant whether or not groups are represented fairly— their heads will get blown of regardless!!
What about the maps? They’re making up for at least 50% of the online experience.
“Battlefield 1's creators could have taken the easy road. They could have omitted a campaign. They could have hastily assembled its multiplayer like the atrociously conceived Star Wars Battlefront.”
Without starting a flame war, I’d like to ask why our reviews include negative review comments based on story aspects that we think should have been added. Example being, France and central europe. By that standard aren’t our reviews so subjective they become irrelevant because they aren’t based on what’s actually…
I hate my generation. “I don’t get to be a Nazi in the campaign” is apparently now a game criticism.
