My sentiments exactly.

Spot on about the characterization. I feel like it's happened for a number of the episodes this season. Characters get used to move the plot along more than to actually act like themselves. It's weird to me how, on reflection, I guess this was (if anybody) an Annie episode and yet, except for two main moments (her

Yeah, I just feel like maybe we're past the point where being self-referential isn't enough on its own? Or maybe there's just a right and wrong way to do it (I'm not sure what that is though).

I guess I expected it to be funny and/or emotional and it was largely neither, spending loads of time playing it with itself, so yes, I suppose you're right!

Todd seemed to appreciate "Basic Story" as a big old meditation on story and sitcom structure and tropes and Dante references and whatnot and I guess the episode now feels at least theoretically more cohesive having read this. But I remember how Community managed to hint at stuff like this while still actually being a

Yeah, I'd say Bondage and Beta Male Sexuality was the most grounded and it was my favorite of the season. Cooperative Polygraphy was also very good. COOL THANKS. I dunno when they'll put it up. Hopefully tonight?! It's not my responsibility. I'll put a link here when it's there though. Assuming I can. Is it against AV Club rules…? If so I shall attempt a rebel uprising or whatever.

Er, nope, wasn't. Sorry if it came out that way.

I agree with ya, buddy! Felt like the joke was almost all about the homage and hardly to do with this being an episode of Community, which is something Community has nearly always deftly avoided.

CONFIRMED!!!

Yeah, weird names on this show just don't even make me blink now. This is the post-Booth-Jonathan era.

Also pretty sure Jessa's friend's name is SEASON!!! But there seems no evidence of this on the web or how to spell it.

Fairly positive the title of his episode is actually "Dead Inside" but the press release HBO sent out with screeners called it "Deep Inside." The actual DVD says "Dead Inside" on it though. It's funny to see different places picking which name to use as a result of this kerfuffle. "Dead Inside" sure seems to make a

Stop drawing attention to it. GOD.

COOL. HI.

Yyyess probably??? Are you the Channel 101 guy?

Pretty sure it was Justin Roiland. Check out the little animated series he and Harmon did together quite some time before this, Mr. Sprinkles (I think all the episodes can be found at VH1's website). Sprinkles sounds like a less hyperactive version of the Meeseeks.
