I think they left a step out. Specifically, how my DNA got into her mouth.

In all fairness the jammers would jam the tracking... so.... they might have thought it wouldn't help not thinking about possible theft.

If it went on for 6 years and was the first time it was used in politics, probably.

A 10 year old car will not have in dash navigation, will not have collision avoidance (such as Volvo's city safe), will not have knee air bags (which for a tall guy like me with bad knees is something I want and can get in a ford or a BMW), will not have BMW's advanced cruise control which allows the car to drive in

Battery materials aren't rare earth, lithium is found in all soil on all continents, the processing them is a bit messy but Chile mines and processes a large portion of the world's supply. Also, new battery technologies often use materials that have not previously been used, which is why they are revolutionary (the

just like with cell phones you are going to look to replace the thing every few years anyway. The days of buying a car and keeping it for 10 years without any dramatic loss of function ended a long time ago. That would mean the difference between a car with ABS and one without, or a car with air bags or one without

Hydrogen is extremly taxing to create. We would be better off creating an infrastructure that is based around the grid.

They will still make them for export, I'd bet money on that.

This article is really alarmist. Not only has Congress recently appropriated hundreds of millions of dollars to insulate transformers and sub stations against this very threat, but we have satellites at a Lagrange point between the Earth and the Sun that would give us sufficient warning to shut down power grids and

We currently have satellites at Lagrange points between the sun and earth that are capable of informing us when huge solar storms are headed our way. The warning time is enough to allow for the orderly shut down of electrical grids and satellites to minimize damage.

Its a pretty sweet piece of tech and software. I am most impressed though with its ever growing role in a combined arms strategy that puts it at the center of coordinating fire control from various weaopns systems while simultaneously tracking both incoming targets and outgoing projectiles.

These systems are more likely to be used for shore to land bombardment (if we attack Iran it will be with a pretty big volley coming from our ships, mostly cruise missiles but these would do the same thing at a cheaper cost), they will also be used to shoot down missiles at distance and the range of these things would

Using the same tracking tech as the Aegis system, you wouldn't even need that. One to one kinetic kills on high velocity missiles are already possible. Just point the thing at the horrizon and let the tracking software guide the shot into an ICBM leaving Iran's coast.

While I get what you are saying, and they may do that some day, I think the statement you are questioning is more toward theatre missile deffense (hitting cruise missiles at a distance or an ICBM on the way up or down).

They will compensate for it. The projectiles used in WWII era battle ships probably generated more recoil then these ever would since the projectiles were very high mass (a lot of explosives had to be thrown), which means a big bang to get them moving.

That flame, as mentioned below, is all friction with the air. Going that fast that quick in a full atmosphere of air makes a lot of heat. Think shuttle re-entry.

Those are coming, first you have to get the projectile system to function at 100%, then you can start worrying about varying the ordinance.

I like the Israeli approach, they build Merkelev's without a turret, and added seating, and use those as IFV's to accompany the tanks. The IFV's provide equal protection since they are on the same chassi with the same armor. An expensive solution but second to none.

So i was just reading about this on CNN and one of the comments stuck out.

Its called morphine / adreneline lol
